सौवीरन्तु यवैरामैः पक्वैर्वा निस्तुषैः कृतम् । गोधूमैरपि सौवीरमाचार्य्यैः कैश्चिदूचिरे ॥

सौवीरन्तु ग्रहण्यर्शःकफघ्नं भेदि दीपनम् । उदावर्त्ताङ्गमर्दास्थिशूलानाहेषु शस्यते ||

कच्चे अथवा पक्के हुवे तुषराहित जो की कांजी को सौवीर  कहते है । ऐसे सौवीर ग्रहणी, अर्श, कफविकार, उदावर्त, अंगमर्द, अस्थिशूल, आनाह को दूर करता है और अग्निदीपक ओर मलभेदक है ॥

Fermented liquid prepared out of boiled or unboiled Barley is called as Souvira and it also can be prepared with Wheat also. Souveera is used to treat Grahani, Heamorrhoids, Kapha Diseases, udavarta, Pain Bony pain, Anaha and it is carminative and Laxative.
